My family and I have spent many summers at the Jersey Shore.  When Hurricane Sandy devastated the Northeast in 2012 and destroyed so many places that we loved, we wanted to do something to help.  We decided to write and sell a story about how much we loved the Jersey Shore and to donate the proceeds to help rebuild it. This family project taught the girls that even they can help and make a difference by sharing their story. Five years later, our home State of North Carolina was devastated by Hurricane Florence, so we decided to re-publish our book and share it once again with those effected by another horrible hurricane.

The Sandy Ground Project

In 2013 we were honored to donate the proceeds of this book to the Sandy Ground Project/Where Angels Play. An amazing group of NJ Firefighters and volunteers who dedicated their time and efforts to rebuilding 26 playgrounds throughout the Tri-State area. Each destroyed by Hurricane Sandy and each in memory and in honor of a child lost in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Two tragic events that happened just weeks apart.

Now, all new and current proceeds will be donated to a local charity in North Carolina. We will select one in the coming days and post it here.

Thank you for buying our book and sharing it with your family and friends, it has been a very meaningful experience and my family and I are very grateful for your help.

Inspired by senseless violence in Newtown, Connecticut and in an effort to restore the storm ravaged east coast after Hurricane Sandy, we endeavor to create 26 living memorials to all children who have been victims of violence while creating safe, fun places for children to be children.
